Ahalam or Dream is an interactive 2 player RPG puzzle game in which the players ultimately raise against each other. The players must use their character’s abilities of blocking and unblocking arches in order to win the game. Ahalam is intended to be a console game for audiences 18 – 25
What I learned
I learned to manage a team of 3D artists, programmers and a 2D artist. It was my first experience working with Unity and it was very rewarding. I also learned significantly about scope and it was a great lesson in time management and presentation skills.
Bull Street is a 2 player fighter game that was developed over a weekend at a game jam session at the Centre for Digital Media in the fall 2011. Bull Street is different from any other fighter game as it makes a political statement at its core. This game was made as a support piece to the Occupy Wall St. At its core a bear, representing the bear market and a bull, representing the bull market, are fighting infront of Wall street as bystanders and members of the stock exchange get trampled on.
Concept design – I played a crucial role in the concept development for this game. I created the vision board in this post
Level Design – I designed the fighting stage using Maya and Unity
What I learned
I learned to use Maya and Unity to create a game environment which got praises and was compared to that of Duke Nukem
The team created The CDM Promotional tool prototype intended for the digital media community and those interested in being involved in the CDM sub district. It is an interactive, multi platform portal meant to captivate and engage the user in the increasing vibrancy of the CDM culture. In addition, the team also delivered a full promo video which can now be seen on the front page of the Masters of Digital Media Website
Video producer- I took a coproduction role and collaborated in the production of the Story Board and script for the video in addition to working with the clients to tailor a video to suit their needs.
Sound Designer- I composed original music for the promotional video
GUI UX Designer – designed Web portal from conception to completion including rapid prototypes, flowcharts, GUI
The following is the very first prototype of what we wanted our application to do. We wanted the user to be able to trigger embedded media in a virtual space to create a rich immersive experience. “Imagine that you were standing in the center of New York times square and you were able to click on the structures and objects around you to find out about the Squares iconic past.”

What I learned
I learned to work in alignment with multiple parties. For this project, vision alignment had to be maintained between my team, A real estate development firm, a branding agency and an academic institution. The challenge was to get the different parties involved to agree in the design of the application my team was trying to prototype for them. From a marketing point of view, the goal was established to tell the right story about the site to prospective students, tenants and members of the community. Writing the script for the promotional video solidified my ability to communicate a story from a promotional and informational point of view.
The Institution is an interactive story built on flash depicting the story of Five main characters on their journey through a mysterious school. The project received various praises among the school.
Project Manager- This was my second experience as a project manager during my first semester at the Masters of Digital Media Program. My Style was very hands on and I used an Agile board to manage the many tasks involved in this kind of production.
Creative Director- I played a critical role during the discovery phase of the project. A week and a half was spent brainstorming ideas for the story and the characters. Many ideas were proposed and a “buy in” had to be acquired to proceed into production.
Sound Design – I cowrote the composition at the introduction of the first act with Jasmine Jia. I also wrote and did the voice over for the dialogue for four of the main characters in the story.
What I learned
I learned the most in the field of project management during this project. Time management and scope played a big role and I thing I handled them with great success. One of the greatest rewards was the feeling of satisfaction that my team expressed upon completion of the project.
As a sound designer and voice actor I learned to improvise extensive amounts of dialogue while under pressure. It was very encouraging to hear my teammates laugh as we played back the dialogue in the sound recording studio.
As a creative director I learned that “buy in” can be very difficult to achieve in a team full of creative people. I learned to be persistent and to not lose hold of the original vision while still accommodating some changes during production. Keep in mind that my team and I only had three weeks to fulfill this project.
In the Spring of 2012, Industry project Moobaa set out to create a 2 player iPad side scroller game for kids. The project offered many challenges due to a shortened schedule but the team was able to deliver a very successful prototype that caught the attention of the school.
